Case Example: 
Learning To Walk Again… 
I’ve used it consistently to transform many aspects of my life. Perhaps the most rewarding of all changes was seven years ago when my mum was in a serious car accident and ended up with extensive brain damage. Laying paralyzed in intensive care, she woke up from nearly 1 month in a coma to discover she was unable to move and unbeknownst to her at the time, her brain was described as being in a “vegetative” state.Challenges don’t come much bigger than that.

Thinking back now it’s hard not to imagine what that must have been like for her. The fear, anxiety and huge uncertainty. However I knew that it was absolutely essential that the Doctors not tell her that she was paralyzed… because after many many years studying NLP and hypnosis I knew first hand the effect of “negative suggestions” can have, how we are each bombarded with negative suggestions (often unintended) from others and so I was completely adamant that they would not tell her. If within a few months she couldn’t walk or recover I would tell her myself.

However she demonstrated a tremendous desire to heal, to recover and exuded many of the key attitudes taught inside this program, which starts with learning to manage your own state.

I used my knowledge and skills with NLP, learned first from applying NLP on myself, to help shape and direct her state, the meaning this new world of “not moving” meant and re-wired up new associations about what was possible.

As I think about the recovery my mum made, I feel a deep sense of immense gratitude and happiness spread over me.
